Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 1 August 2026
Our commitment
Cosavio is used by accountancy professionals every working day, and by company directors who only ever see one page of it — the identity verification link we send them. Both groups deserve an interface that works with a keyboard, a screen reader, at high zoom, and without relying on colour alone. We are committed to meeting WCAG 2.2 level AA.
We also have obligations under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage.
Conformance status
Cosavio is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA — conformant except for the issues listed below. This assessment is based on automated accessibility audits of the public website run on 1 August 2026, together with issues already logged against the signed-in application. A full manual audit with assistive technology has not yet been completed, and this statement will be updated when it has.
What we have deliberately built in
These are design decisions already in the product, not aspirations:
- Every interactive element has a visible focus indicator.
- Interface colour is used alongside text, never as the only carrier of meaning — compliance statuses are always labelled in words as well as colour-coded.
- Status information is exposed to assistive technology, including the compliance strip, which is announced as an image with a text alternative rather than as a wall of unlabelled marks.
- Decorative motion on the marketing site respects the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting. - The interface is built mobile-first and works from 320px wide upward.
Known issues
Found by the 1 August 2026 audit and still open:
- In the signed-in application, two pages expose a duplicated main landmark and there is no skip-to-content link yet, which makes screen-reader and keyboard navigation less efficient than it should be. Both are logged for fix. Workaround: all navigation is reachable from the sidebar, which is keyboard-operable.
- A full screen-reader pass (VoiceOver / NVDA) of the filing preparation and approval journey has not yet been run. Until it has, we do not claim those journeys are fully conformant.
Found by the same audit and fixed on 1 August 2026:
- Small text below the contrast minimum (WCAG 1.4.3). The gold uppercase section labels and muted tertiary text on the marketing and sign-up pages, the amber due-date text in the home-page preview card, and the low-opacity footer headings all fell below the 4.5:1 ratio. The design tokens and opacities were darkened to meet or exceed 4.5:1 on their backgrounds.
- Links distinguishable by colour alone (WCAG 1.4.1). In-text links and link-styled buttons in the sign-up flow were underlined only on hover; they are now always underlined.
Post-fix Lighthouse accessibility scores (1 August 2026, desktop): home 100, sign-up 100, with zero colour-contrast or link-in-text-block failures.
Accessible alternatives
If any part of Cosavio is not usable for you:
- Firm users: contact your firm administrator, who can carry out any task in the product on your behalf.
- Directors asked to verify their identity: contact the accountancy firm that sent you the request. Identity verification can be completed by other routes, including directly with Companies House, and no one should be prevented from meeting a statutory obligation because of an interface problem.
Reporting a problem
Tell us and we will fix it. Include the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology or settings you use.
- Email: accessibility@cosavio.com
- We aim to reply within 5 working days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
How we test
What we do today:
- Automated accessibility audits (Lighthouse/axe rule set) on the public website — most recently 1 August 2026 on the home and sign-up pages.
- Manual keyboard and focus-behaviour checks during development — for example, the mobile navigation drawer traps focus, closes on Escape, and returns focus on close.
- Responsive checks at mobile (375px) and desktop (1280px) widths on every user-facing change.
- Colour is never the only carrier of meaning, verified as part of design review against the product's design tokens.
Planned before general availability, and this statement updates when done:
- A full keyboard-only walk of sign-up → portfolio → prepare a filing → approve it, and the public verification page.
- Screen reader passes with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows).
- 200% and 400% zoom reflow checks.
This statement is reviewed after every significant redesign and at least annually.
