What is a confirmation statement?
1 min read
A confirmation statement (form CS01) is an annual filing that confirms a company's registered details at Companies House are correct; it does not report finances.
What it is
A confirmation statement confirms that the information Companies House holds about a company — registered office, officers, people with significant control (PSCs), share capital and SIC codes — is accurate on a given date.
When it's due
Every company must file at least one confirmation statement every 12 months. The deadline is 14 days after the review date (usually the anniversary of incorporation or the last statement).
Why it matters
A late or missing confirmation statement can lead Companies House to assume a company is no longer operating and begin striking it off the register.
